The short answer

The RTP is identical, so it is not the story. Aviator gives you per-round provable fairness, a heavy social layer and far wider reach, while Space XY gives you hard published limits, a fixed 10,000x ceiling and a 250,000 euro cap. If verifiability and availability matter most, Aviator wins; if you value transparent fixed ceilings, Space XY does.

🔐 The real difference: provably fair versus certified RNG

Aviator is genuinely provably fair and Space XY is certified-RNG only, and that gap is the whole story. Aviator lets any player verify each round: the server publishes a hashed server seed before the round, combines it with three client seeds drawn from the first bettors, and derives the crash point from a SHA-512 hash. After the round you can re-hash the inputs and confirm the multiplier was fixed before any bets landed.

Space XY offers no such per-round check. Its random number generator is independently tested and certified by iTech Labs and BMM Testlabs, which guarantees the game is statistically random and the RTP holds over time. You can review round history, but you cannot recompute the seeds behind a specific crash point. In practice Aviator carries both aggregate certification and per-round provability, while Space XY carries certification only.

Myth check

Space XY is not provably fair, whatever some review sites claim. BGaming’s own game page states that all its titles, including Space XY, are governed by certified RNG protocols. BGaming pioneered provably fair technology and uses it on some other games, but not on Space XY. If you arrived believing otherwise, that belief was wrong.

Neither model is strictly better; they defend against different risks. Our provably fair explained guide sets out what each one protects against. For a sceptical player who wants to audit individual big rounds, per-round provability is a genuine edge for Aviator; for a player who simply wants long-run honesty, certified RNG is the same assurance used by mainstream regulated slots.

📊 Aviator vs Space XY at a glance

Aviator and Space XY both pay 97%, so the other specs decide it. Aviator is provably fair, while Space XY uses certified RNG only. Space XY has a fixed 10,000x top multiplier and a 250,000 euro win cap, while Aviator’s limits depend on the casino. Aviator holds MGA and UKGC licences. Space XY does not hold a UKGC licence. The table sets out each spec side by side.

🧮 Same RTP, so what actually differs?

With the same 97% RTP, Aviator and Space XY differ on fairness checks, limits, look and reach, not on cost. On either game you lose about 3% of everything you stake over time, and no cash out target changes that. There is one small wrinkle. BGaming’s in-game rules screen for Space XY quotes a 96.88% to 98.92% range by strategy, and BGaming does not explain why.

There is one wrinkle worth knowing. Space XY’s official RTP is 97%, but its in-game rules screen quotes a 96.88% to 98.92% range by strategy, and BGaming does not explain the discrepancy. Treat that headline as the figure to expect and check the in-game info panel.

For the record

The unexplained 96.88 to 98.92% range comes from BGaming’s own rules screen, not from a third party, which is why we flag it rather than dismiss it. The proof that no cash-out rule overcomes a fixed edge is set out on our crash gambling maths guide.

🎛️ Dual bet, max win and caps

Both run the same dual-bet idea, but they differ on control and on ceilings. Aviator lets you type any auto-cashout value, while Space XY restricts you to preset multipliers such as 1.05x, 1.50x or 10.00x, so fine-tuning a target is not possible on Space XY.

The ceilings are the mirror image of the fairness story. Aviator’s multiplier is uncapped by design, but the payout cap is set by each operator and varies wildly, from around x1,000 up to figures like 1,800,000x, which gives the player no clear sense of the limit. Space XY publishes a fixed 10,000x maximum multiplier and a 250,000 euro hard cap, which are transparent, known quantities. In short, Space XY gives you clearer published limits while Aviator gives you more ways to verify the game itself.

📜 Licensing: only one is UK-licensed

The common claim that both are MGA and UKGC licensed is wrong, and it is worth stating plainly. Spribe holds both MGA and UKGC licences, obtained in December 2020. BGaming holds MGA, Curacao, Greek and Romanian licences but does not appear on the UK Gambling Commission’s licence list at all.

For the record

Spribe’s UK software licence was suspended on 30 October 2025 for a hosting-compliance issue, then reinstated on 30 March 2026. Even after reinstatement, Aviator was reported as still not live with UK-licensed operators. So in the UK specifically, neither game was straightforwardly available at the latest check.

🌍 Distribution and studio focus

The reach gap is large and it favours Aviator decisively. Aviator has been integrated into roughly 5,000 casinos as a single, brand-name title, and Spribe is a crash-first specialist built around it. Space XY rides BGaming’s broader portfolio of around 3,000 casinos, but as one crash title among more than 250 games competing with the studio’s slots for lobby space, so its individual reach is far narrower.

Aviator’s enormous reach and social design are part of why it spreads so fast and holds attention so well, which is exactly where the risk conversation belongs. See our crash gambling and harm guide for how scale and speed factor into risk.

🏁 Which should you play?

Play Aviator if you want to check each round yourself, and play Space XY if you want fixed, published limits. Both games pay 97%, so neither one pays better. Aviator gives you provably fair rounds, free typed auto cashout and the widest reach. Space XY gives you a fixed 10,000x top multiplier, a 250,000 euro cap and a clean grid look. Both lose money over time.

Aviator is the stronger fit when you want:

  • ▸Genuine per-round provable fairness you can verify yourself.
  • ▸The widest availability and the genre’s default brand name.
  • ▸A rich social experience and free-typed auto-cashout targets.

Space XY is the stronger fit when you want:

  • ▸A known, fixed 10,000x ceiling and a published 250,000 euro cap.
  • ▸The distinctive coordinate-grid look and a clean, minimalist feel.
  • ▸Certified-RNG assurance and long hands-off autoplay sessions.

For full mechanics, see the Aviator game guide and the Space XY game guide. For an identical RTP, Aviator gives you more ways to trust and verify the game, while Space XY gives you clearer published limits and a more distinctive look.

❓ Aviator vs Space XY FAQ

Is Space XY provably fair?

No. Space XY uses a certified RNG only, tested by iTech Labs and BMM Testlabs. BGaming’s own page confirms all its titles, including Space XY, run on certified RNG protocols rather than provable fairness. Aviator, by contrast, is provably fair.

Is Aviator or Space XY better?

They share a 97% RTP, so it depends on your priorities. Aviator wins on verifiability, social play and availability; Space XY wins on transparent fixed limits and its coordinate-grid aesthetic. Both lose money over the long run.

Which has the higher RTP?

Both have a 97% headline RTP. Space XY’s in-game rules quote a 96.88% to 98.92% range by strategy, which BGaming does not explain, so treat 97% as the headline and check the in-game panel.

Can you play Space XY in the UK?

BGaming is not on the UK Gambling Commission’s licence list, so Space XY is not available at UK-licensed operators. Spribe’s UK licence was reinstated in March 2026, but Aviator was reported as still not live with UK operators at the latest check.

What is the max win on Space XY?

Space XY has a fixed 10,000x maximum multiplier and a 250,000 euro hard cap, both published by BGaming. Aviator’s ceiling is operator-dependent and varies widely, with no single published figure.
